So I finally got motivated to do what I have been talking about doing for a year now (mostly waiting on good weather), I started my fish room remodel!!!! So the room at its peek held just over 1500 gallons, the plans for the new build out should be just over 2000 gallons and include automatic driper, zone heating, regenerative blower(already running but probably need a larger one) 4x180 gallon show tanks, 21x29gallon selling tanks, 3x90 3x75 8x55 breeding tanks, 180xgallon unknown (maybe disc trial breeding tank). As you can tell and some of you know one of my best friends has 40x55 gallon and 10x300 gallon ponds which is where all the fry grow out he also has 1x90 show 2x150 show (which got its remodel done this past winter).
So I embarked my start yesterday morning at around 9am and went to midnight (spent the first few hours building 180 gallon stand cost $45 2x4's). So where might I be moving all these tanks, Well I have a huge 3 season patio on the back of the house and I've moved everything out there for hopefully the next month. Day two Started around noon and am just stopping for tonight now 11:30 and have 5x29 tanks still to move out of the room. So it will be pretty easy tomorrow moving dry goods and the table and spare lids now scattered all over the room and hopefully tearing out the carpet (I know I know a carpeted fish room, it was never planned as a fish room just hodge pogde togethether which is why i need to redo it). Once the carpet is our I'm calling it a weekend and should be doing the new flooring, draining system and start of the 2x4's stand. The third weekend should be finishing up stands setting up the drip system and air system and drilling tanks for the over flow and if it works out the start of moving tanks back into the room. Fourth week end finish moving current tanks into room and start looking for more tanks to fill the empty spots. This is at least the game plan I'm sure it wont go as planned and wont be done for week 5 or 6 but its the plan.
I'm told for the floor it would be about 500-800$ Wood for all the stands 300-400 Pvc and drains and drip systems $300ish I already have the blowers most of the tanks a bunch of fx5's which i use on the 180 gallon tanks all the sponge filters and gang valves that i would need. So I'm hoping to keep it under $2,000
I'm working on getting a few pics from my buddies room, and a few from my old room and a couple of the ponds (which have been stocked since june 1st)

Very cool man I could sit in that chair and just watch for hours in that room 8) What's the big guy in the bigger tank on the left? (The one on the wood stand)

jardini arowana, Hes now in 180 gallon tank in a different room. You know how hard it is to move a 2ft fish that goes nuts as soon as its caught!!!! I would have had better luck with a fishing pole and just yanking him from the tank real fast.

I would commonly be found sleeping on the floor with the dog in front of a tank....

I thought that's probably what it was but couldn't tell from the first pics. That's a great looking fish, very nice.

I have been to tylers house pre-remodel and his set up was top notch. His fish look awesome and happy. He is a great guy to deal with , though hard to get a hold some times :P
Cant wait to see the new room, I will be stopping over when done.

Congrats on making the jump to redo the room!
What do the neighbors think of the fish outside? Do you heat those tanks at all? How do you remove the fry at the end of the summer?
-
Are you about ready to redo the floors?

Can't wait to see it when it is done.
