I LOVE YOU!!! Auratus is obviously male. How do I know if these are pure species?
-
All OB Peacocks are hybrid. For the others - find reputable species pictures & closely scrutinize your fish to them.
Or..... find the scientific description & start counting teeth, scales, scales in a row & tooth shape. :P

1- Logan
2- Archibald
3- George
4- Juanita
Can we still name the fish?

I know the pictures I took were crappy, which makes it difficult and I know how everyone doesn't like it when Blair gets his horn tooted, but after googling what he identified, those looked exactly like what he stated. :P I don't want to discourage anyone from guessing though, all of the comments are appreciated!!
-
Yeah Blair... no tooting.

Yeah Blair... no tooting.
that's cool Ken.... you can toot it for me. :P
-
Whatever you do, don't EVER encourage Blair, or we'll have to send him for shock therapy again. :o
On a serious note, I believe Blair used to be a freshwater manager for a lfs before his current occupation, so generally speaking you can at least trust him to correctly identify a fish for you.

Actually Marty, my knowledge of Malawi comes from being obsessed with them about 15 years ago. I didn't have the internet back then so I bought every damn book I could get my hands on. But, I did work at a petland. (Not a manager/just ran the fish dept )

WHAT?!? No Internet? I saw a pay phone the other day and I took a picture of it. I sat there and imagined my son tugging at my shirt and pointing to it saying "mom, what is that" lmao

Is it being held together by tape?
