Title: Christmas Fulu
Post by: Sean on June 20, 2013, 10:39:50 PM
This is my male Christmas Fulu, and a couple of his females in the background. He is about 3" and the females are around 2-2.5"

I can see that. But you can tell he gets colorful. Does his face get real blue?

Not so much his face, but his fins turn a really nice ice blue with black tips, his face gets a light green and red with a really dark stripe down his eye

I'm kinda new to cichlid keeping. I thought the fulu got a real blue face? I have the Ruby Greens.

Were you referring to this picture? I'm pretty sure that one is photoshopped. As they get older they will start to get a blue to theire face, but it's a very faint shade. The second picture is what a male will look like in breeding colors. It's very similar, but the first one is enhanced on a computer

still very unique and pretty... Looks like the same fish minus the green.

I agree, they are one of my favorite cichlids. They are very cool to watch chase each other around because of how agressive they are. Very cool fish

I have a Malawi mixed tank, my Rubies are mellow compared to those freaks! I think it's funny too how everyone talks about some certain species being the MOST agressive. My Red Zebra runs the whole roost. I have a Jack Dempsey in there too (which I need to re-home) that wont mess with the Zebra, even though it's double the size. The Dempsey gets along with all the other ones in there.

Sounds like a crazy tank. I don't mix my fulus with anything just in case

My ruby greens are alone too. I don't think I will do a mixed tank again. I didn't realize all the cross breeding that can happen.

Yeah, once they get started they never stop. He got back to me and said he sold off most of them, but he will check and see if he has enough for you. He sells em for $5 a piece

Amazing price! I can always wait for the next batch too! If I could re-home my mixed tank fishes I'd get 2 males and 10 females.

Yeah he has good prices on all his fish. I'd try to put the list of fish up on here. They'll be gone soon. I'm not sure if he will have a next batch, I believe he is trying to get rid of all of his. If he doesn't have them, there's a guy on here who does

Yeah. He's checking and then e-mailing me back. If not, the other guy on here that has them is Bob Stevens. I gotta pick up some stuff from him soon too, so it's no big deal to pick 'em up
