I have been going back and forth about this.
I can run a DE-humidifer in the room but it draws a lot of power and the are pricey
Then I thought since its in the basement install a bathroom fan and have it tap into the vent pipe that goes outside for the dryer. I was told by a friend, that It can be set on a timer and have it kick on every 4-6 hrs and I'm thinking that this will help remove some of the humidity plus "freshen" the air?
Thoughts opinions comments suggestions or just want to say Hi?

I'm thinking dehumidifier. I don't know if the bathroom fan would be enough to do the job...

Run the dehumidifer on a timer or spring for a energy star one we had on at the place we rented it was the landlords but it was like 15 watts or something like that. My air pump drew more than that even.

A dehumidifier will draw more power, but has the added benefit of giving off heat. I believe Warren Vaughn used a dehumidifier to heat his fishroom.

Dehumidifier, but don't use hillbilly engineering to make a tower for it. ;)

Thanks any brand names you prefer

Another issue with fan in the winter is that you would be pumping warm air outside, then your furnace has to work overtime to warm things back up.
An Energy Star one will cost a little more upfront, but it will use less electricity to run.

I got a whirlpool any big name is good, there is one that Home depot sold that was discontinued because of fire hazards

I got a dehumidfier, but need something bigger. Debating on air exchanger or hvac.

I have HVAC at the store. Just keep it clean. We clean its weekly but ours is a 3000 sqft room

I use a window fan in mine and open it in the mornings and close it at night... in the winter i have an extra duct from the air intake to the furnace from that room so most of the air put into the furnace comes from the fish room so the furnace drys it out and heats it and sends it back into the house.
The basement set up we have runs a high out put exhaust fan in his small basement window which works great and he does the same thing for the winter...
The only bad times are when the air temp is to cold to open the windows but warm enough the heat isn't running much. Thankfully in MI it only takes a day for the temp to change again.

Rack up another vote for a dehumidifier.
Rich, in your room... just set it at 50% or so and let it cycle on and off on it's own. It's made to do that. It won't run continuous.

Picked up a Costco for $200.
You can drain or pump up to a sink
