I started using New Life Spectrum fish food. I just saw online they have a cichlid formula. Is there a difference? I am currently using thera plus a 1mm for my smaller fish and the 2mm for my bigger fish. Also the only size i can find on the cichlid one is a 1mm, those seem to be too small for my larger fish. Any suggestions?

I use Thera A for all my Africans (spirulina flakes also).
They make the Thera A up to like a 6mm pellet.

I may be wrong... isn't Thera A the one with garlic added ?

I use Thera A as well, great food!

Yes it is.

So then the cichlid formula is nothing different?

I may change over to something else... as this stuff isn't cheap and the fish are growing.

The "thera" content is slightly different from the standard. From size to size across the standard NLS offering, the nutritional percentages do vary. I however do pick what size I feed based on the size alone without concern about the slight variations in percentages.
IIRC the "large fish" formula is the 2mm pellet. I feed that to my malawian cichlids around ~5" and over. 2"-5" I use the cichlid formula. Under 2" I use the growth formula. However, for all I also use a large spirulina flake 1/2 of the time as well (when most of the large flakes are gone from a container, I swap the remaining small contents to a smaller container that I use for the smaller fish and refill the large container from a bulk quantity I keep in the freezer.
