It looks like a aulonocara jacobfreibergi lemon jake. Nice male peacock. :)
-
I think it needs a lit more blue to be a lemon Jake.. but I have been known to be wrong. ;D

Then aaulonocara jacobfreibergi otter point.. :-\
-
That was my guess. :-)
But I try not to get into the id of fish.... I still have a lot to learn.
-
Those were both of my guesses as well, thanks guys for helping me out..:)
-
Definitely one of the A. jacobfreibergi variants (not Lemon or swallow tail tho)
-
Could be Hongi or Mara but looks like it is really small and could very well be hormoned to get it to look that colorful.
-
He's good looking. Post a pic when he grows up alittle, may help.

oh yeah! I'd bet that it is.
What's throwing me off is the number of egg spots. I haven't seen that many on a Jake before, but I do understand that the further we get from F0 & with the amount of line breeding of Aulonocara, there is going to be a lot of genetic variation.

How long does that last?
-
The egg spots and the small size is where I was coming from on the hormoned side. Could be Weeks to a month it lasts.

I'm going with otter point, nice fish
-
Just outta curiosity - Where did you get him ? Very nice looking fish...KUDOS !
-
Otter points have always struck me as having more orangish color rather than yellow.
The easiest thing to do is just not mention a location after the name. Nice looking peacock. ;)
-
I picked him up at Tropical Treasures (http://www.tropicaltreasuresfish.com/), they had a couple in the big front tank and I couldn't resist...:)

Looks ALOT like a lemon jake to me!

Might be just the picture, but I don't think there is enough blue in the body for a Lemon Jake.
-
That's true. It's probably a hybrid of some sort. There's no telling what it is then!
