I am looking for something new and please do not say you have a well. I am looking for something that isn't going to break the bank I've been using kordon but it is getting too expensive and hard for us to get at a good price.
Is sodium thiosulfate a good option I've seen on lists that we can get 5 pounds of it for about 20 bucks.

I use Prime but I recently have only used it for fry tanks or when the city is flushing their system and using extra chlorine instead of chloramine...or when I'm doing a WC and the water smells strongly of chlorine.
-
I am using the DR.fosters/smith brand cheaper then prime, have noticed no difference.

Good to know. Cheaper e.g. same size bottle less expensive, or bigger bottle, or both?

I use Prime.

Mydor Dechlor ease

I've been going from tap to tank for years with no problems.
-
I have drawn off the tap and stored water for a couple days to dechlorinate and bring it back up to room temperature with no ill effects. My city water department still uses chlorine only to disinfect.

Thats the cheapest way to do it... but, is a pain in the kiester when you have multiple tanks and change out a couple hundred gallons of water a week.

You should check out Juergen Kasprick's setup for aging water (pics or video...I think available on Ken's Fishroom videos? I saw it in one or two MCAS presentations).

Need to compare on equal footing
Fosters Chlorine Neutralizer...................2.5 gallon treats...19600 gallons......$56.45 (5 64oz bottles at sales price of $11.29)
Prime ...............................................2 litter treats up to 20,000 gallons....$36.99
also Prime says "Provides essential ions and stimulates natural slime coat "

I use Kordon at the moment. I order from Ken's Fish. Probably will be switching to Prime in the new future.

Same thing for me.. 3+ years now...

When living in the city I previously used ClorAm-X, had no negative experiences, and thought it was economical.

Confession I just stopped using declor. the last month or so just kind of ran out and planned to order more never did no problems so far will defiantly be picking up some concentrate when I remember...... Now would be a good time.
-
prime here.. but def need to just pick up a 2l.. these $10/250ml is getting old! anyone else doubledose on prime just to be safe? (sorry to jump thread) but do you put in dechorifier before tap? pour it into the first bucket load? or after you fill tank up?

I've used Prime for about 3 years now.

I do water changes out of a 55 gallon drum, so my water is premixed with dechlor and buffers. I've heard many people do half before adding water and half near the end of the water change.
