Title: Tilapia snyderae
Post by: linuxrulesusa on April 17, 2013, 05:57:17 PM
Anyone kept tilapia snyderae before?  Pairs vs harems?  Tank size?  Suggested tankmates?  Diet? I saw an ad for some recently which piqued my interest so I wanted to find out more.

I have two of these around 2 plus inches. The red under the belly is awesome. They also like free flowing algea, but have eaten anything I feed them. They seem to be a good tank mate I have some small N. Brichardi which they leave alone. I hope this helps.

Snyderae are nice.  Good colors, spawn young, and can stay reasonably mid-size if not power-fed.

Just picked these up today.  They have been fed well so are 2.5-4"...supposedly 1m 2f but had not bred for previous owner who had them in a 150.  They are in a 30 long with my West African oddballs.  With the option to move to the other 30 long if there are issues.
