I removed a very nice Ngara Flametail from my display tank last week because he was getting picked on too much, after moving he came down with ICK, I treated the tank by turning up the heater to 86 degrees and added in salt. The ICK has dropped off and I am now keeping the temp at 86 and adding salt to the tank for the next week or so to make sure the ICK is completely dead. The ISSUE is the Ngara Flametail is not eating and has not been eating since I removed it from the show tank. I suspect that he was a pappa to one of the females and he is now depressed and is not eating and his color is beginning to fade out....
IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO SAVE THIS FISH ? He was one of my best show males prior to this issue...

What are your water parameters?
Have you been changing the water & only adding the salt that you took out?
-
Water perameters are as follows (for both tanks):
Ammonia = zero
Nitrites = zero
Nitrates = 30ppm
PH = 8.0
I am doing WC's every other day (50%) since treating for ICK. I have (3) 300 gph filters running on the 55 gallon Show tank, I have (2) 330 + gph filters running on the ICK infected 55 gallon tank. I also have air stones running in both tanks pumping in tons of air, I have 2 air pumps, each one has double outlets. I have combined the double outlet into one single air stone in each tank.
I add salt after each water change..

OK, what about my salt question?
(BTW I'd suggest doing a water change)

Still didn't answer the question. Are you only replacing the salt that's removed during the water change?
-
Yes, I only add back in the salt that I remove in the WC...
-
What food are you feeding?
Have you tried different kinds? Both pellets and flake?
-
I am feeding both Spirulina flakes that I purchased at Wet Thumb and NLS pellets that I purchased at Oyer's once a day, down from twice a day for about a week now.

Strange that its a flame tail.
I lost one too. Didnt get sick or anything... just stopped eating. Color faded... it got darker and darker. I tried the hospital tank, etc.
Different foods, etc.
I didnt save it. It was an adult and good looking fish. Got it from Bob Stevens.
It was a very picky eater from the start though.

Try mysis shrimp

Still no luck! How long can a fish survive without eating ?
