Male Cobalts can hit 6". Male Dimidiochromis compressiceps are absolutely awesome as full 10" adults; Shiny green heads and blue bodies.
-
I am thinking fish in the 10"+ range.
-
One very noticeable omission so far would be the Nimbochromis genus. Not N. venustus, but the remainder get quite blue in breeding dress.

Fusco!
There's a couple Tyranochromis which get a nice blue too.

Yes, A Good 8ft tank for JUvies would be a good idea. Like 4-6 inchers...

Champsochromis caeruleus. Males get over 10" and are most definitely blue. Also called "Trout Cichlid"; from lake Malawi.

Yeah, just sold my pair a few months ago. Also had an extra female that was missing her right eye. Named her "Danica" because she always swam in left turns and crashed into things when she went too fast.

When/if I set up a 150 gallon or so for something like this... I will get a dozen or so. But for now, it would only be one in the 140 gallon mixed tank.
-
Change it up..... a 140 Fusco species tank would be badass

Cant get rid of the wife's Albus.
And the mixed tank is here to stay for a while. Too many fish in there I want to see grow.

Right now the Champsochromis caeruleus is in the lead on what I want.
