With no bottom? Yeah is just happened, sounded like a bomb went off, and I have 125 gallons of water and 60lbs of pfs on the basement floor, and pieces of glass 13-14ft across the room.Tempered glass sure does fly, it lifted the tank off the stand, as i went down and seen a tsunami is the basement.UGGGGGGGGGGGGG

I doubt it.
WOW. I mean...that sucks man. How did it happen? Atleast its in the basement and not he main floor right?
-
no idea, had it supported just like a stand from the store with extra support across the middle and across the frt back and sides.
The whole bottom Blew out, looks like a car window after a spark plug hit it
-
Major bummer...What fish did you lose? s
Is your level maybe off or something shifting on the floor? Just wondering because of the 40 breeder that busted. I would check your other tanks soon if that is even a remote possibility.
-
Are you using any type of foam under your tanks or just setting them directly on the stands?
-
I am using foam on some, after thinking I was moving a support brace earlier to but a tank on the area below. This might be a smack in the face stupid move on my part
-
DAMN Rich, what's going on at your place with tanks blowing out? I would look into the construction and level in all four directions of your stands. I hate to mention this but, have you noticed any structural damage in your home such as cracked ceilings or basement walls buckling? I certainly hope your house is not settling abnormally and causing stress breaks to your tanks.
If I can help with anything just let me know.
-
Wow.
I cant imagine.
-
What fish were in the tank?
They all survive?
-
On a good note I was able to grab all the fish and get them in other tanks.
On a bad note I was kneeling on my bad knee picking up glass and such for 2 hrs+ and when i woke up this morning to get out of bed, my knee just gave out like I never had one there. Now its swollen, hurts like He** and ask Blair If i say I am in pain its bad.
I need to go to church sunday and take dip in the holy water ;D

Sounds like you already had a dip in the holey [rock] water and that caused the problems to start with. ;)
Feel better soon. Glad no one was hurt (fish or more importantly people)...hope you can figure out soon what is causing the breakages.

Glad the fish were all saved Rich!!
And as for the knee....I feel your pain brother...literally :'(

Rick you could make a plywood tank with the front pane!
-
I found the worst part about this whole thing, is not so much the water every where or the loss of a tank. Its the PFS and shards of tempered glass that went everywhere, I have had the shop vac going for hours
-
Damn Rich, that sucks. Good luck cleaning up the mess...

Now that's a damn good idea right there!!!
-
And someone else could make another tank out of the rear panel.

Unless it's painted :P

Good point.
-
Damn Rich I'm sorry to hear that another tank went. I can't even imagine 125g of water all over the floor :o
-
I think that's everyone's nightmare, definitely mine.
On the + side at least you were home to act quickly and save the fish.
Did you have any large rocks in the tank? Older tank?
-
You could put a plywood bottom on it and sell to herp lovers.
