Title: Filter Options

Hello All,

So I have been looking online for a System 1 Diatom filter to help with some of my more populous tanks on an occasional basis, but they appear to be more than difficult to find.   I have read that a Marineland Magnum 350 can be used with diatom powder for a higher level of polishing.  Does anyone have any experience with the Magnum 350 for polishing with or without diatom powder?

I ran the fish section at a Petland in 09. While I didn't actually set it up,  we ran a mag350 from time to time on selected units & used diatom.
 It worked great

Hi Lana,
I sometimes use my HotMag with the micron cartridge for polishing the water...if it really needs a high polish, I will add some diatom powder....but I hardly ever need to.

I use the micron cartridge on my Magnum 350 and it gets the water SPARKLING clear...
