Title: Filtration
Post by: SKISWETPETS on November 07, 2011, 11:16:44 PM
Im in the process of setting up my 20 longs as you've seen from the picture, and im curious how others are filtering multiple tanks. I have an AP 20 pondmaster pump. But im wondering how everyone else is doing there tanks and fish rooms and such. Maybe a couple pic's would be nice. Just for some idea's. ??? ???

90- 4 Hydro V's( double stacked) & a AC110, 35CUBE- 2 Hydro V's
95- 3 Hydro V's, 20tall- 1 Hydro V
All of the above sponges are powered by a Jehmco #LPH 26

120- 2 AC 110'S&  a Hydro V, in the 120's stand i have a 50breeder with 1 Hydro V
These sponges are powered by a TetraTec deep water 96-2

Then I have 2 50breeeders that each have 1 AC110

Im wondering, would it be best to have my pump on a shelf maybe up closer to the top row of the tanks, or down low, underneath. Any info is helpful, im gonna try either way probly. But maybe someone could save me some time? ??? ???

above is best (no check valve needed)
distance isn't a big issue, just be sure the system is a closed loop

Very good point about the check valve... Im not running a loop with taps, the air pump i have has an air diffuser with it, and im just running airlines from those. Im hoping it is gonna suit my needs for now. So far 5 tanks with homemade filters, and plenty of air.

My pumps are up top & the big system is on a closed loop.
I'd recommend the same.

Is your closed loop, PVC with drilled and tapped valves off of the loop of pipe? Cause i was thinking that but not sure if my Pump is large enough for that type of air loop.

Yes,  I'm running 12 valves off of it.
