Newest one I had, been running for months and no issues, even took the gravel and rocks out the other day since it was going to be a holding tank.

The bottom just crckedin3or4 spots.I took a picture

Ron thanks for the eye opening comment. I have one tank that has a crack and its fine. This tank cracked at the bottom and if I knew it was cracked I wouldn't use it.

I've got a 50L that got a crack across the front after I fumbled a mag7 pump onto the floor during water changes. It bounced off the floor and hit the tank, sending 3 cracks out from the point where it hit the tank. Miraculously it kept holding water, but the first thing I did was stop everything else I was doing to move the fish and empty the tank. I don't think a chipped corner is a deal breaker, but a crack anywhere is an accident waiting to happen and IMO is a tank that should never be used to hold water.

Sorry to hear about your loss Rich.  That really sucks.  Could the stand have been putting stress on the glass?  Just asking.  I always put 1/2" to 1" foam under my tanks to account for any stand imbalance or imperfections.

Thanks for all the kind comments and words.

I know its part of the hobby, but when you look back at all the time and money you have into it makes it a hard pill to swallow.

Not to worry, I will looking for more fish:)

I got around to taking apart the broken tank and the bottom part that blew out, was really "glued in"

I think it was just a freak thing, as the rest of the glass on the bottom was not wanting to come out or move

Rich, I too have lost many fish over the years.  It doesn't get any easier over time as all my fish are important to me.

In 2000, when my 12" male Xingu III Black Pike Cichlid of an adult pair died from knocking down his heavy rock cave on himself, I was so upset that I gave away all of my fish; this was the only pair in the US back then.  It took a few years before I started keeping fish again.

I'll never give up.
