Had a rough start with these guys.....ordered 5 but got six in the bag. One died on the way back across the state, another died the first week, 2 more casualties in the following few weeks. That left me with just 2 but they turned out to be a pair. Got 9 fry in the first batch and she's been holding a week now on her second round. Good thing the big boy doesn't get nasty with only one female!!!

I want some of those fry. When will you sell them?
-
That is an AWESOME looking fish... :P :P
-
That's a nice looking fish!
-
Real nice.
-
Very nice
I almost picked up a bunch of these from Pruess last winter.
-
I saw some adults at Preuss in late August. They wanted from $20-$40 each for them! That's why I usually start out with juvies and grow them up to breed from ;)
-
Outstanding, really like their coloring.
-
That fish looks a lot nicer than the last time I saw it. I am glad you were able to get a pair out of them.
-
Nice fish I am still waiting for mine to show color like that and breed!
-
Thanks for the fry. Will be keeping a little diary on them to keep track of their growth and such.

It was nice to meet you today. I hope the fry do well for you. I checked my records and I stripped them at 16 days on 10-23-11 so that will give you a starting point.
I'll get in touch when I have some of the Met. zebra gold Kawangas available. I've only got 15 right now ranging 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 weeks old.

Sounds good. I'll definitely be waiting for some of those guys. Thanks.

I picked up 6 from fantastic fins last month or so its looking like 2 males 4 females I cant wait to see them in full color.... they were nearly 2 inches and a great deal.
-
That is awesome looking fish and I want one or a few lol.

I know this is an old post but the recent posts sparked new interest. That is an awesome looking male. I looked at some pics of others and they are more solid orange or yellow. I like the looks of your male the most. Kinda makes me want some. I may have to go on the hunt!
-
Seems to me it depends it depends on the age and mood of the male the older they get the more solid the pattern they are cool fish no mater what even the female pattern is nice.

I agree, not often you see that.

Do you remember roughly how big he was in that pic. My male is around 3" and has really nice color but is almost a yellow green right now
-
I believe he was between 3 and 4 inches.....probably closer to 3.
