I have many times in the past but not in quite a while now.  Just keep an eye on peoples feedback.  For instance I bought wild Lwandas from a guy on there who has a well know import business(forgot the name)  his feedback was 100% out of over 500 transactions and successful shippings of fish.  Needless to say I was very confident my fish would arrive alive, and they did,  I have dealt with them direct a few times now.

Another time a guy had decent feedback but not 100%  He didn't list his shipping price and didn't respond to my msgs.  I wanted the fish bad and he was in Illinois so I thought fine I'll buy it how bad could it be he's practically a neighbor......... $117 to ship overnight from Illinois for 12 1" fry!!!!!!!!! I went 2 day which I hated to do and I am not sure the guy could have shipped them successfully overnight as in 2 attempts all arrived dead!!!!

Just watch peoples ratings  and don't deal with people who won't answer questions and it is a great site with many species listed

I've window shopped, but never purchased. Sometimes the deals seem too good to be true. Other times they are very much a rip-off. And there's also that third aspect that Gmaschke hinted at - competency of the person shipping the fish.

In the end I've always bought from within MI.

I visit the site from time to time-I purchased some fish from a gentleman from Howell, Michigan and stopped by his home to get the fish on my way to the East Side-- :-X--of the state to buy fish at Fantastic Fins. I keep looking for a certain fish there-but-the bids can really go higher than I wish to pay- ???-then the shipping- >:(- But....if a person really wants the fish-they will buy them.
.....that reminds me...need to check out the site again... 8)
