Title: Bluegrass Aquatics
Post by: SKISWETPETS on February 11, 2013, 12:06:32 PM
I know I have asked in the past im curious if anyone has any recent experience with this company? Qualitly/satisfaction/etc. I have been doing a little looking lately and have came across a few things they offer that I might be intrested in. I figure I would try for a little info ahead of time. Thanks in advance...

In 2008 I had a friend order from them and she was happy with the order.

In 2009 I had a friend order from them and he wasn't happy with the quality of a few of the fish he received.

Since then, I've read mixed reviews on both sides of the fence, but nothing that would make me say they are the best or the worst place to order fish.

Helpful?  ???

What are you looking at ordering?

I actually know the owner, and it depends on what you are getting as to what to expect.
He owns a fish farm in Florida and some/most of the fish he sells on his site come from there, to mixed reviews it sounds.
He also takes collection trips, quite often with Rusty Wessel. Some pretty nice fish come from those trips.

Yeah it helps a little, the two things that caught my eye were the Pseudo Polit's, and the Alonocara Peacock Orange Maleri Island, amongst some others Im sure... But those for sure stuck out. I may have to try to organize a small order with a few friends up here and just give it a try. Not sure yet what the plan will be.

I was just curious the species in case I knew of someone local to the state who was actively breeding them, but for those two I do not. If you go through with it, let us know how it goes!

Thanks Ron, I will for sure let you guys know about the experience if I do indeed go through with the order. Gotta see what kind of intrest I get from a few people up here first I suppose.  ;)

My son lives in Ohio and he drove to their store I believe he said was in Indianna. He bought some Tropheus and was quite happy with them. This was 4-6 weeks ago and he has commented they are doing great, look good and he plans to go back for more in soon. I mainly buy from Allison at Cichlids and Herpes and have gotten beautyful fish from her at very good prices.
