Title: Purigen
Post by: four_by_ken on January 24, 2013, 06:58:24 AM
So, something new to me... Purigen.

I have read the sales pitch about it. Now, how about some real world experience?

I am still getting rid of some of the leeching of color from my drift wood.  Not bad anymore though.  But, after a week... I can tell.

Sounds like this Purigen stuff could help out.

Anyone like the stuff?

I run it in my 90 stocked with Trophs. Personally I like it, when I added the trophs, the nitrates started climbing (the tank had been cycling for 2 years) - it immediately brought them down to negligible amounts.

I am pretty sure it is helpful when suddenly increasing the bio-load in a tank, as far as it resolving your driftwood problem, I'm not sure. I really can't see any negative's from putting it in though.
