I just ordered a new Fluval FX5 plus media for $211.50 and thought I'd share since I haven't seen such a good deal. It is listed $234.99 and if you are a new customer such as myself, it will also take another 10% off bringing it down to only $211.50 + free shipping and no tax. There was an error for me towards the end of checking out, but I did a chat with one of their customer service and got it fixed. I now have more canister filters than tanks - guess I need more tanks. ;D

That is a nice price... awfully tempting.

sweet predicament to have. we all need justifications to get more tanks!

Great score! Right now price is showing $304

$234 when I click the link.

I bought one of these from Overstock last week - great price IMHO, and it comes with 2 boxes of media as well.
-
I wonder how long this will last?

I really liked that it came with the prefilter media instead of carbon since I don't plan on using carbon with our wellwater. Now the hardest part is waiting for the free 5-10 day shipping... :-\

I am not a big fan of canister filters in general but have to use them on my big tank and the FX5 is the only canister filter I`ve ever use that I thought was worth a crap

I absolutely swear by this filter. I have owned probably 10 or more over the last 10 or so years.
I always used them on large tanks. I used two on my 190g when I kept freshwater rays, and I used two when I had the indoor pond set up. In fact, I still have two that are sitting empty waiting for a new project ;D
I doubt you will be disappointed ;)
