Title: Bringing Fish to Canada
Post by: jkeeler on January 22, 2013, 01:01:10 AM
Does anyone have experience with bringing fish into Canada (not Chesterfield, Canada)? (i.e. restrictions, paperwork, etc)

LMAO!

I don't have any experience but it is my general understanding that Canada doesn't care at all about bring fish across the boarder.  The past MCA President (Lance) use to do it all the time.  It was only bringing fish from Canada to US that was the problem.  I've also spoken to a few other Canadians at events like the OCA and ACA who expressed not needing anything to bring fish back to Canada with them.

I asked Theoryguru about this while we were waiting on AAA.  He said they basically don't care as long as the fish are pets.

I was just going to post that. I texted a buddy who is border patrol on the U.S. side and said if they are pets you can bring them back over just do not tell them you are bringing them over to sell to a private buyer.

Thanks, I have a Canadian co-worker that just started a tank and wants to bring some fish back.

Why doesn't he just ask when going over prior to bringing the fish?
