Title: Feeding african cichlids shrimp and krill.
Post by: danielratti on January 21, 2013, 07:05:28 PM
Since I have some bigger fish would it be safe to feed them chopped shrimp and krill? Ive been feeding brine and mysis for a long time with no really ill effects. It just seems like some fish are not really eating the brine or mysis because of there size.

I have all 3 and some tangs in my tank. Only 3 mbuna though I figured the bigger fish would get it before them though. I see it has pretty low protein in it.

Mbuna have a harder time breaking down meaty protein than they do vegetable based protein. The protein percentage isn't as important as to what they are getting it from

Yeah the haps and peacocks are faster than they are and the 5 big haps and front I have normally keep the other fish away during feeding time.
