Title: Strawberry Peacock? nah... yes?
Post by: four_by_ken on January 20, 2013, 04:24:11 PM
So, is this a Strawberry Peacock?
That is what it was labeled as at the auction.

This picture doesn't do the purple/Blue color justice.
I really don't care what it is... it's a nice looking fish.  That's all that matters to me.

Strawberry Peacocks can vary in coloration.  I'd say wait a bit longer & let's see if more red comes out.

Thing is... I dont see ANY red on it.  Phone picture isnt the best.

The face is a real dark blue/purple.  When in the right light... there is a ton of purplish blue through out the body (unlike what I have ever seen).  Then the main color on the body is a yellow/tan with a hint of orange.

I have seen two different types off peacocks labeled as strawberry. The ones from the dragons blood and the other from the German red bloodline. Looks like yours might beat the latter of the two
