Regular africans only if they sick (   if an African gets sick I add some salt, baking soda and epsom salt )Tangs get some iodized sea salt  added and  Petros and Trophs get some baking soda just to make sure water is very hard

I have well water so my africans love it. When I lived elsewhere and had city water I would only add buffers for wild caught fish that were being stubborn about breeding.

Because of my water, I have to add a LOT of salt and a descent amount of buffer.

Thats all I do.  When I was buying salt last time, I noticed Seachem had a "Trace Minerals" product.  I just dont know anything about it and if anyone uses it.

IMO, "trace minerals" are more important for invertebrates and originally developed for saltwater reef tanks.
