So here's everyone's chance to post how busy their day today has been/will be today/tonight.
I have a few minutes in between cakes baking so here's my day, so far:
Had to get up and head out to the meat market nearby and picked up a beef tenderloin, a prime rib roast, and a few pounds of fresh kielbasa and then off to the regular grocery store for some other stuff.
First I took care of getting the prime rib wrapped and into the freezer for the next few days since that is for New Years' Day.
Also, picked up some extra femur bones for making my home made sauce for the prime rib.
Now, for Christmas Day dinner...my prep work started with cooking 3# of kielbasa so all I have to do tomorrow is warm it in the crock pot. While that was cooking I put the turkey stock on the stove and started cutting up all the vegetables for the home made Turkey Gliders, which is an old family recipe for turkey frame soup with large dumpling style noodles made from scratch along with turkey, celery, carrot, and onion. After I got that to a slow boil to cook the veggies, I threw together my version of a chunky apple spice cake with a (real) maple syrup and Bailey's icing. After that cake was in the oven, I started prepping another of my own recipes for a triple chocolate cake with coffee and Heath toffee bits baked inside. This cake I top with a Kahlua based icing.
Next, I need to start making the home made gliders (dumplings) for the soup which will be a first course tomorrow.
For appetizers tomorrow I am making shrimp cocktails and beef tenderloin strips.
The shrimp cocktail I make myself using raw shrimp that I cook instead of buying frozen. I garnish this with two types of home made cocktail sauces and I also squeeze fresh lemons for dipping the shrimp.
The beef tenderloin strips I just saute them in a little olive oil and fresh garlic....which I will cook fresh tomorrow just before serving. For the beef I make a home made horseradish sauce and a home made beef stock and butter sauce.
My sister bakes a nice ham and the rest of the family will be bringing side dishes.
Now...I need to get my arse back to work so I can finish all this before I have to shower, shave, and get dressed before midnight mass.

Cleaned up the kitchen after my wife (great cook, but she destroys the kitchen) twice. Packed up two vehicles worth of presents, and went to my parents. Ate dinner, opened gifts, and spent about an hour outside assembling the BBQ grill we got my dad.

Tony - At the start of your message I was stuffed and uncomfortable. By the end of the message I was hungry. Thanks. LOL.
Blair - You are overpaid. LOL.
Marty - Grills are the worst. I put one together for my dad many years ago. Found out later that the store would have assembled it for like $25. All future grills in my family have had assembly included.
Larry - Most of your post was TMI but certainly information on where the post was created. :o ;D
My day - Needed to be at brothers at noon. 10:30 woke up from alarm. Hit snooze till 11:40. Got up and got ready. Left house 12:10. Went to bakery to pick up pie. Got to brothers shortly after 1pm. No one complained I was late (thought to myself CRAP I could have been later). 1 to 5 did basically nothing but talk to my parents and brothers family. 5 to 6 gorged on filet, twice baked potato, salad, an asparagus. Filet was cooked perfectly. Nice cool pink middle. 6 to 7 opened presents. 7-7:15 ate apple pie. Came home. Shoveled most of my drive. Ticked off that I haven't put the plow blade on my tractor yet. Moved 20 to 30 boxes that UPS delivered at my front door to my garage. Screwed around on internet. Typed this message.

After Talking to Blair, Went and picked up Sub at walmart for dinner tomorrow(yes they have great subs), went to my S-I-l's and had dinner and read a book to the kids. On the way home noticed I dont have brake lights, so I had to drive with my hazards on while snowing and witnessed 3 car accidents, I was nervous because I can drive in the snow but others cant, and when you have no brake lights it made for a long tense drive.
I left out the boring details, and then I came on here to wish everyone a Merry Christmas
Tomorrow I will need to take extra xanax, the relatives are coming over LOL

Pretty uneventful day today just lounging around and running a few errands, then deep fried chicken for dinner with wife and youngest son. Christmas day we head to Chicago's Midway airport to pick up my middle son, daughter-in-law, and grandson flying in from Oregon. Looking forward to that. We'll have all three sons, 2 daughters-in-law and 5 grandkids here on the 30th for a belated Christmas party and family pictures.

I don't mind putting stuff together, I can usually glance at the instructions and put it together unless it's really complex. Most of the grill was assembled in the box, it actually took longer because I was working by porch light and flashlight.

Marty, since as husband you cleaned up after your wife, how about you, as president come and clean up after the vice president?
Woke up Christmas morning to see what a mess I have to clean up in the kitchen!!! And I still have to make the icings for the two cakes (which can get messy) and then trim the beef tenderloin for later.
BTW, the Three Stooges are on and I'm finding it difficult to get out of my recliner this morning.

I'll be over to clean up on New Years since that's when you're serving the prime rib ;D

WOW, I expected to only cook up what amounted to 2 or 3 filet mignon sized pieces, but it was being eaten as fast as I pulled it out of the pan!!! Ended up cooking the entire 3# tenderloin....and that was just served as an appetizer!!!!
There were some stuffed people leaving tonight, that's for sure!!!!

As long as you still have that prime rib for me next week, you're doing alright in my book.

LOL, unless you have all day to come over and play Axis and Allies (and know how the game works), then the prime rib is off-limits 8)

I'm googling it now ;)
For what it's worth, I kicked butt at Risk
Now I just have to come up with an excuse for the wife ;D

Problem is, we have totally altered the game by using a different board from another game...and we have made house rules to coincide with the board we use.

Axis and Allies
wow there's a flash back from my younger years. As a teenager back in the 80's my friend and I use to play Axis and Allies and Conquest of the Empire for hours on end every day after school. I haven't heard anyone mention those games in years ;D
