Title: John Pippo Passed
Post by: JeffroM on December 10, 2012, 04:39:22 PM
I received an email a little bit ago from Vic Bondi indicating John Pippo passed away on Sunday.  He was at the MCAS auction on Saturday and looked pretty rough as heart problems seemed to have been taking there toll.

John was a great guy. At the first MCA auction I attended by myself and brought fish, he was one of the first people to introduce himself and help show me the ropes. He had a great sense of humor, an incredible passion for cichlids, and will be greatly missed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Jeff,  John is who I was hanging out with at OCA Extravaganza when you thought I was at Bible study & Tony & I were hanging out with him Saturday night as well.

Great guy with a good outlook on life & great stories. Real shitty that he didn't get to take his trip to South America & see the healer.

Was he the gentleman that was walking with the cane and having a hard time walking and standing up? If so I moved a few chairs for him to make it easier for him to move and he looked up with a smile on his face and said dont bother they will get out of my way

Prayers to his family

I'm too new here to have had the chance to have known John but I certainly offer my thoughts and prayers to his family.

As a runner at auctions, I delivered many bags of fish to him over the years. May he Rest In Peace.

Here is the funeral home that is handling his funeral.  As of last night, they didn't have anything set in stone besides the actual funeral on Saturday afternoon.  I imagine if anyone wanted to send a card, it could be mailed today or tomorrow and get there in time.

I don't know if there is a public visitation, so I would call first before heading up there.

Thanks for the link with pic.  Now I know who he was.  Pretty sure I ran a couple bags to him or at least encountered him a few times last Saturday.  Sorry to hear about his passing.

I didn't sit and talk to him as much as I normally do. He was always such a staple at the auctions I had been to I just assumed we would chat next time. He was also one of the first who helped me around the auctions during my first few go arounds as well. I didn't know him as well as the rest of you but he always seemed very helpful and pleasant. He'll be missed.

We here are deeply sadden by this loss
John was always the first guy I would see at All the auctions (did not matter to him who's it was)
We always joked about who was going to get what bag, but when I missed out on one he was always there with a lead on who had what.
Also he supplied me with loads of info on this hobby
It always impressed me that with his health issues he was battling he kept up a hero's front on it and always asked about mine.
He also always had a warm greeting for my little girl and a hug for my bride
Rest easy my friend, your work is done
