Where is this auction held, and is there a site to see what fish are registered? Thanks Johnny.

Not sure about seeing what fish are registered. You mean what will be there for sale? I don't think any auctions do that locally? I could be wrong though.

You never know what will be for sale until auction morning. The registration in advance does not include the type of fish.
In fact, people that register ahead of time often do not know exactly what will all go to the auction until they start bagging.
Also, there are plenty of people that do not register in advance, they just show up auction morning and register then.

I'll admit, there's a few times I've been in a sleepy haze the morning of an auction trying to figure out exactly what to bag, but these days I try to make a list ahead of time so I'm more efficient!

The impression I got from the rules is that there's no penalty from the MCAS for anyone registering the day of the auction? If so there's a small chance I might try to make it and bring some fish. Dependings on how timing would work out with a birthday event I'm supposed to attend later in the day.

I will be there and that's the most important thing LOL

Tony, are you gonna help me out at the B.I.N. table again?
-
Thought so, then I clicked on the link and read the rules and all. I don't want to jinx it or anything, but it is the plan to make it to this auction. My cousin will be coming with me. Im excited for this. Especially when I read it is being "Catered"... ;D ;D

Sure will Chuck, whatever the club needs.

What is a B.I.N. table...

What is a B.I.N. table...
"Buy It Now" is a table that a seller sets a specific price they want for an item, as opposed to a standard auction where it can sell for as low as $1.

I wish people did. I suffer from CRS (Can't Remember S***) and people will always talk to me like I know them well all the time I'm wondering who the hell they are.

This sounds like the mother of all auctions, However whats this BIN table? Sounds like Ebay. At auctions people bid, why not just start a flea market for fish. Might not be a bad idea that why sellers could set flat rate prices. Just a thought, Johnny.

FWIW, local clubs (I forget specifically which have/haven't) have had swap meets before - sellers basically pay for a table and sells their goods.

The BIN tables are a very small percentage of the items at this auction. Each seller is limited on how many BIN items they may register. Also, the BIN items are only available for the first couple hours of the auction, then they have to be reclaimed by the seller or they go into the auction as a normal item with no minimum bid (well, actually a $1 minimum). The BIN option is to allow a seller to bring an item that may be higher end, or that they just do not want to gamble on a low bid.
As for flea market events, we normally call them swap meets but have not had one in quite a few years. It's been talked about among the officers of the various clubs, but it hasn't been nailed down.
