Stripped a Ps. Dolphin Manda of 17 HUGE fry tonight. These fry are like 1/2" already. Crazy.
I thought I sold them too, but he never came and got them. I had to move stuff around to accommodate the Discus I'm getting and noticed one holding. I put my 5 adults in the same tank with my tropheops - if they get along okay I'm just going to keep the adults.Stripped a Ps. Dolphin Manda of 17 HUGE fry tonight. These fry are like 1/2" already. I thought you sold the dolphins? What's your plans for those fry? If you're gonna offer them up, I call dibs LOL

Yeah it does. Like i said, i was just curious. Ive thought of doing something like that up here before, just as a part time thing. But im not really sure about it yet. For now just a hobby with some cash sales to friends and such, by appointment sortof.. :P :PCobue afra holding. I operate a small part-time wholesale business. I order from wholesalers that do not sell to the general public and I sell mainly to stores but, I will sell certain items to club/forum members as long as it's not a fish my store accounts have ordered.
Hope this explains things.
Was both pictures stripped all from the same mom?Close - two moms, but both from the same tank. I was really hoping to only get fat black fry from both, but alas, I guess one's too good for the cats to fool.
Syno. Multi and what else?I was almost going to post, but there's at least one fry turned sideways enough that I thought someone could figure it out. ;D
Syno. Multi and what else?
It"s not a red fin borleyi is it?Yep! There's one in the 4th quadrant that's turned sideways compared to the rest, that really shows the fin color present in the fry.
My Pytochromis sp Salmon "Hippo Point" finally spawned!

Hopefully you have a male Cynotilapia afra "Cobue" in with her, and not something that could have cross-bred by accident?
Hopefully you have a male Cynotilapia afra "Cobue" in with her, and not something that could have cross-bred by accident? For the first time ever I have hybrids. And its happened twice with different fish. Scarry thing is the second time the only female in the tank was a Ps Soulosi but the fry look like a peacock or hap. Who the heck was momma?

kinda like if you were stuck on a desert island and the only women were three eyed pygmies with sea shells for ears....eventually you'd be like "Hey baby, How you doin?" :oUmmm.
Come on Jeff don't let Marty Scare you...LOL.Marty scares me but for completely different reasons. LOL.
So I got home from a long day of work and school. Grabbed a beer and went to lay on the couch and take a look at my Tropheus Ilangi that I have had for 10 days now.....and there it was....A great looking pair SPAWNING!!! I still can't believe it didn't take longer than 10 days for them to be settled enough to do so. I am overly excited now!Would it take you more than 10 days if you moved houses? :D

p.s. No, I am not diving in for the holding females 8)Wimp! A true fish geek would pull them, strip them, and raise the fry. Boo hoo you'll have to move a few rocks. :P
I'm not stripping them because I would have to set up fry tanks...that leads to setting up an entire fish room...and I'm not gonna make it that easy for someone to win the pool. ;Dp.s. Got some F. rostratus the other day and one FAT S. multipunctatus. ;D
Awesome Ron. How big till they start showing spawning behavior? From what I've seen, when the males are around 5"-5.5" and the females around 4"-4.5" they start to get interested, but it takes them a few tries to hold successfully. Around that time the males also start showing flashes of their full color - dark black with blue/green highlights.
I stripped 7 Electric Yellow's... Finally have something else to growout... 8) 8)As in "7 were holding" or "I got 7 fry"? If it's the former, oh man you've probably got quite a few to grow out!

Very excited to report the first spawn in many years for my group of Cyathopharynx foai Helembe green (featherfins)! I've had this group for maybe five years and no indications of interest in spawning until about two or three months ago. Tonight, there's a female holding a large number of eggs. I hope they are fertile.

I have L-333 fry ;D
Was moving the 4 that I had into a different tank and as I was moving them I see little fry swimming around. I was able to catch about 10, and now I'm letting the tank settle so I can see if there anymore.
This a huge deal to me as this is the first batch of fry that I really want to breed, I have had convicts and misc peacocks breed but those turned into fish food.
This is awesome ;D
Copadachromis trawavassae mloto
