Title: S. Fryeri spawn
Post by: davidnickyang on November 26, 2012, 12:39:55 PM
Hello,

Thought I'd might ask for some of your opinions. I have a group of S. Fryeri (2 males, 7 females). They are fairly big (breeding size). I also have a big Blue Regal in the tank. He's about 1.5 times bigger then the males.

Will the males be too intimidated to spawn with the females?

Thanks,

Depends on the size tank, but I would move the Regal.

The tank is a 70 gallon tank. It seems spacious. I'd need to get another tank if I had to move the regal. Hmmm....I'll have to see what is possible.

I'd move the regal for the fear of crossbreeding. Peacocks and fryeri will readily cross.  :-\

Yikes!

I had those in with Lemon Jakes and both bred with in their own genus. *But what do I know. An article I read confirms Ron's post.
