Title: Jack Dempsey's
Post by: SKISWETPETS on November 19, 2012, 11:16:03 PM
If and or when my Jacks finally pair off and spawn the they will lay eggs on a rock or someplace any way and then just guard them till they hatch hopefully without eating them correct?

Yes, they are substrate spawners.

That would be the hope. Expect a couple of mis-fires if they are first time parents. When I used breed Jack's I liked to catch about 80% of the free swimming fry out of the tank and raise them seperately and leave a few behind for the parents to practice raising.

Hmmm good idea. They will be first time parents if they ever pair off and spawn.
