At last weeks meeting it was announced that starting in January MCAS will be moving the monthly general meetings to:
Crash Landing
26620 Dequindre Road
Warren, MI 48091
(586) 751-4444
The MCAS has held their meeting in the Canadian Providence of St. Clair Shores for a number of years. It is nice to see the move back to Michigan.
I obviously joke in this post, but I want it known that I for one seriously appreciate this move and will try to be more involved in the club as a result.

I too am very happy about this& would like to thank those involved in making it happen.

Remember the conversation we had not too long ago where I ended it with, "Don't worry, I'll find something for you"? I believe I just did. If you're not happy with the current meeting location for MCA, you're tasked with finding a new location. Either along the 696 or M59 corridor, in either Western Macomb County or Eastern Oakland County. We currently donate approximately $25.00 a meeting to our current hosts. I look forward to hear what you find for us.......

I mapped it and yep, it's closer!
... Still a little over an hour for me, but I might actually make it occasionally now for an event other than an auction. :)

My comments where in regards to the MCAS and their meeting location. They had nothing to do with the MCA meeting location. I obviously have thoughts and comments regarding your challenge but I believe if the MCA would like to reevaluate the meeting location and how it may benefit the club that this conversation should happen with all of the board of directors and not in a public forum.

You frequently gripe about how far away all of the events are for you, here's an opportunity to find a suitable solution. Are you accepting the challenge, or would you just prefer to complain?
If you'd like to do your research and present it to the board as a whole, I can schedule a meeting. ;)

What is in JeffroM's best interest may not be in MCA's best interest. Again, if the board wants to discuss its options and what is the best interest in the club I would happily be part of that discussion. If it was a board decision to seek a different location I would also happily volunteer my time to finding a location suitable to the board.
In the mean time please separate the discussion of MCA's meeting location from this thread and into its own thread as this one was regarding MCAS.
Thanks.

and I just found My winter Hat that has the Canadian Flag on and I want to represent us east side guys ;D

Board meeting in the near future?

Hey! Who are you again? ;D

Are they planning on moving future auction sites as well?

Who?

I assume you are asking in regards to the MCAS auction site. From what I understand the auction will still be at it's usual place this year. I believe Vic (or another MCAS officer/Board member) could comment best on the future of staying at that great location. I know Vic mentioned something at the general meeting about renegotiating their present deal with the hall.
IMO it is the best auction location and also receives the best feedback from attendees.
The ultimate hinge pin is always costs though.

A big +1 from me on that

Why is it that Dequindre Road comes up every time I talk fish with eastsiders?

Its the road that splits Oakland and Macomb counties. Its been this way since I remeber growing up, that was the "line" that you crossed, its a east side/west side type thing, but its more of a running joke nowadays.

It's also within a couple of miles of both Greater Detroit and Motor City's auction sites.
I like Motor City's location, with the exception of occasional problems with the sound system. Unfortunately, if I understood correctly their current location raised their price. At this point, we're trying to keep money for things like speakers. If I could find a decent location either near there or near the M59 and I75 area for a comparable price I would definitely look at moving our auction site.
