I know it was apparently accidental... But that father should be pistol whipped... Sorry just voicing my opinion here...

** Agreed--it was accidental.....but if the child had died.....you cannot replace that precious life.  :(

Trust me the prosecutor will be so far up his ass it won't be funny. More then likely they will get him with reckless weapons along with whatever else they can pull out of the books. When I got shot they had lists of charges and it was borderline stupid. His best bet will be just admit that he is responsible for leaving his firearm loaded and with in reach.of a minor child. This has been a lot of accidental shootings lately people who own firearms need to be more careful and responsible
