I am newly back in Michigan to atart my PhD in Zoology at MSU. I have a B.S and M.S. in zoology: zoo and aquarium science already from MSU. I moved to New Orleans for 10 years , but now I am back.
On the fish aide of things, I have been a hobbyist for over 20 years. I have bred a lot of different freshwater species including everything from live bearers to freshwater stingrays and much of what is in between. Currently only three tanks running, but two more 245 gallons waiting to be moved into my basement are waiting for me. I have a 125 with small freshwater rays (2 orbignyi females and two hybrid leoplodi pearl motoro pups I produced). I also have a 65 breeder with a colony of white knight hap ahli and a 10 gallon with about 40 fry.
I am looking for some people in the lansing area that are into the hobby as well as some sources for good quality fish. I like trading with and buying from other local breeders, you tend to get some of the best animals and deals usually that way and make some good friends too.

If you're in Lansing and haven't been to pruess pets, that would be a good start. They are one of the best fish stores on the west side of the state, although I guess Lansing is more of the middle, but you get the point.
