Title: Old Fish Room Tour Photos
Post by: Ron on August 23, 2012, 04:08:15 PM
I was looking through an album for a picture today and came across some old photos from a fishroom tour years ago that I thought I'd share. I know there's at least 1-2 people on here who were on the tour, but hopefully these are new to the rest. IIRC this was a tour by The Aquarium Society of Ann Arbor in 2005 IIRC.

Whew...what a collection!  Many cool fish.  What's the one in the fourth photo?

That would be younger Oxydoras niger, sometimes labeled as a "Ripsaw catfish" due to it's scales, but it gets big and I wouldn't recommend it unless you've got plans for a really larger tank. http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=37

Most of the people in the AAAS at the time were big into tank busters and/or natives.

Here's another tank from the tour that I accidentally left out ...

^Guess who's that was?!  ;D FWIW I wouldn't recommend to anyone to stock that heavily for the long term. In this case the house was a 1-year rental in college with some friends and I knew I'd have to tear down the tank within a year of setting it up, so it was more of a grow-out show-tank than a long-term show setup. IIRC there were around ~70 (+/-10) mbuna of various species in that tank.
