I have been dealing with this obsession for over forty years. My first fish was an Oscar, my second a Jack Dempsey. I have kept many different kinds of fish over the years from Rift lake stuff to reef set-ups, but new world cichlids have always been at the heart of things. Right now I am down to one 125 with some Jaguar fry in it. For you older folks, I used to get the good stuff (then hard to find) from Wet Pet, Marty P. at Cichlid World and on occasion form Jim L. down at Bell Isle Aquarium. In those days no one kept neo-tropicals to speak of.
Thankfully it is a lot different now, good fish are all over the place. While I don`t have time to care for 35 tanks right now but love the big guys as much as ever. Jack Dempsies still rock and I will be around these good forums from now on. Belly-up

Welcome to the forum.
We used to do a lot of horseback riding in Wolverine and Vaderbuilt every fall. Beautiful country and encounters with the elk were breath taking.

Will do next time perhaps ... depends if it's before or after the Wolverine exit. I head up your way a couple times per year bird hunting between Wolverine and Gaylord. ;)
