Title: Bi color 500
Post by: danielratti on August 05, 2012, 05:18:01 PM
Do bi-color 500 take a slower time to color up than others? I have a blue neon that is is full color almost at about 2 inches and this one is at 3 and I have vented and it is a male. He has been aggressive towards other fish in my main tank so he has a tank pretty much to himself now. So hopefully that will help with him coloring up since there would be less stress.

It could depend on the strain, as well as what else you have in the tank.  I've had males color up at about 2 inches.

Right I though it was kind of weird that the two other fish he would always beat on are coloring up now the blue neon at 2 inches in fully colored and the sulfur head is getting the yellow blaze. Ive never had a bi-color before. I went to preuss and got these 3 for 15 bucks and was told they were males so I wasn't going to pass it up.

Throw a female or 3 in with him,  that should do the trick
