Title: C. frontosa "Arctic"

I keep ice cubes in their tank to best simulate their native habitat.  ;)

On a serious note, just like my chicken post, curse this heat. I have no AC and the temperatures in the house keep hitting the mid to high 90s the last few days. This is my only display tank upstairs luckily - I've been alternating frozen jugs and ice cubes to provide them some relief. Fortunately the rest of my tanks are in the basement where it's easier to control the temperature.

Ugh, no ac has got to suck.  Of course the $500 electric bill I'll get this month will suck equally as much.

Can't you get a window unit or portable one?

I have no central AC either. Just ordered my second window unit today. The wife wants to put in central AC...so it'll probably happen.

Luckily I only have one tank in the real hot part of the house...my living room. The others are in cooler climes.

I could get some window units, as I do have plenty of windows. It's that electric bill you mentioned - wouldn't be thrilled to see the cost. I do get a nice cross-breeze through the house and have shade to the SW and W, which helps for the hottest part of the day. The fish don't get to experience the cross-breeze though and I know they're stressed.

Maybe someday when I'm older I'll break down and get AC.
