I am stocking a tank for a client and want a group of young Mbunas 1.5 -2 inches. I would like a mix of yellow labs, orange zebras, OB zebras, acei, socolofi, snow whites, saluosi, smaller zebra types, etc.
Basically looking for a good mix with good color and no one getting too big or too aggressive.
Here is a video of a similar system I set up years ago when I was keeping and breeding a lot of these with my marine biology class as a part of the year long aquaculture project.
I know these are common and that many people might not be breeding them because of this. I also know I can just order a mix from my distributor for $2 each but they can’t guarantee mix and I don’t want to deal with the uncertainty of potentially getting a bunch of little nasties that are just going to beat each other up as soon as they mature.
