Title: RO water to purchase?
Post by: Msuiceman on December 13, 2020, 10:17:26 PM
Trying to soften the water in a pleco tank in hopes of having a successful spawn. Anybody know of a place that sells RO water for aquariums? Hate to do it, but will give about one more month until I start chasing softness and unfortunately pH.

I have an RO unit, how much did you need?

What about adding some pure peat to your filter and let it happen naturally? You could also try almond leaves or some black water extract...

I have catappa leaves, trying it. In a few weeks if nothing then I'm going to try adding 2-3 gallons of RO per weekly water change. Don't want to do too much because I don't want the pH to swing too wildly.

I bring my own 5 gallon bottle to fill at Kroger for my crystal red shrimp.  39 cent per gallon.
