I misunderstood so it not quite as interesting as I had originally thought but, Hagen released today the Fluval 06 series (106 through 406).  I had originally understood it as it would include the FX5 but that product is staying put for the time being.  06 series should be available with in a few weeks.

Since you posted no information about what makes the '06 series different from the '05, I did some googling...

I'm not 100% certain, but it appears that the '06 series has been available for quite some time, at least overseas? I found threads from other forums as old as late 2007 in which people were saying they had Fluval 406s.

I have no information yet.  It was unveiled to the public for the first time yesterday at a Las Vegas trade show (Superzoo).

So I must have found all the instances where people mis-typed 406 instead of 405?  ;D

My brother-in-law imports products from overseas for a living & according to him, we don't see most of the stuff China&Japan  have until at least two years of them having it
So, there's little doubt, in my mind, that the 406 series has been out.

The Japanese and Europeans are typically known to spend more money on aquarium stuff.  The Japanese are well known for dropping serious coin on driftwood and stumps from the Amazon because they're obsessed with authenticity.
