I had 2 non Zaires come in on my order awhile back from Southeast cichlids. The only Tanzanian import he had at the were Kipilli.
I would like to find them a good home. They are 5 inches each.
$50 each.

I'm no cyphos expert but doesn't the hood over the eyes make them Zaire? If Tanz & Zaire both have the hood, how does one really know what they are? What were they sold as?

Dan I went back to the vender with pictures and he confirmed they were not Kitumba as ordered. He said the only non Zaire that he has had in the shop was Kipili. He confirmed them as Kipili. The mask and coloration next to a Zaire is night and day. The mask on the Zaires is solid black and goes down 3/4 of the face.
Look at the difference between the two here.

Wow, yes, that's a clear difference alright. I have never seen 2 variants of cyphos side by side like that except Burundi & Zaire. Thanks for the pic for comparison. It also helps that the supplier acted honorably in the process.

Bump. Priced at $30 each, otherwise I'm shipping them back.
