Tigers baby!
« on: September 17, 2013, 05:50:05 AM »
I been a Tigers fan since about the early 90's when I use to watch games with my grandpa, suffered through the bad years in the late 90's early 2000 yet still went to the old Stadium before CP and enjoyed just being at the ballpark. But.....we are looking at another Championship again this year. Anyone else looking forward to some October Tiger baseball!

Last years vid, but IMO one of the better tributes ;)

I was thinking I'd like to hit one of the playoff games (Tigers) this year, usually it's myself and sister&fam that go (5 of us) but after seeing the playoff game tix prices ($60-$125) per seat I think I'll pass :o Standing room only was even $35.

The Tigers just lost 3-in a row to the Miami Marlins--which they should have beaten easily. The Tiger lost the last game in a no-hit shut-out. Pathetic!! For some reason-the past 2-months or so--they have had a difficult time scoring runs. They have loaded the bases many times-no-outs and no runs came in whatsoever!!
Now-they are going to play against the Oakland A's...LOL...the Tigers with their "lackluster" hitting--will be defeated. The commentators and other sports related programs have talked about the Tigers inability to bring runners in from the bases and it's going to hurt them. Oakland will show No-Mercy.....I like the Tigers and either watched them play on TV or listened on the radio and am disappointed on their lack of runs. They have batters that are fortunate to even get to base. They may have won first place--but--I seriously doubt they will go any further! Oakland will win--unless the Tigers get off their lazy batting posteriors and come alive and knock-off this foolishness of not getting runs home. Say what you want--people have noticed the Tigers hitting is in a bad slump and the play-offs are going to not be easy. :(

Yeah that game today was really pathetic for sure. They need to step it up for the playoffs or it will be a very short run :-[

*** I fully agree with you and they were shut-down..pathetic indeed!!.  What a joke it was.  Honestly, it seemed like they didn't care-seriously. I agree-the play-offs for them may be short...would not surprise me..their hitting is poor. :( ***

It was a good pitching dual.

They have till friday and in my baseball opinion Leyland isnt going to let these guys just "practice" over the next 5 1/2 days. They are going to learn how to play baseball and play it good, if not he wont be back next year.

** If ... Leyland... gets his team to practice hard and learn to play Real Baseball-they will increase their chances of winning. Getting runs home--better defense--stop the relentless and easy to steal 2nd. base against them and sharpen their Relief Pitchers-who are terrible--worse I have ever seen!! Also-the inability to get runs in the late innings--as if they were "just tooo tired" to play. Pathetic. No improvement--Q.E.D.-- :( :( **

I honestly hope that Leyland does not come back next year. I never have liked the way he manages the team, especially the way he handles the pitchers.

~~ Surprised he lasted this long. Replacing him next year would be a wise choice. I was hoping he would have been replaced this year. He may have become tooo complacent/passive and not aggressive towards getting his team to get moving!! ~~
