Danny, be careful with that South American Viagra, I've heard bad things.

Dang, that is slow. Where did you source them? How many do you have? No stress, but I'd love to see a few pics if you have them...
I got them from Fantastic Fins.  Started out with 17. Dumped them all in my 135, then the smallest ones have been killed off along the way. I'd have to actually count them,  but think there's 8-10 left.
Unfortunately I don't have any pictures.  It's hard getting any good ones in my fishroom,  because I mainly use ambient lighting.

Ok mate, no worries. Thanks for responding about these guys anyway. I'm gonna cross them off my list. My tank would have ended up over stocked and suffering losses as a result anyways. Selling the discus today so I'll keep y'all posted here again soon!

So I was tinkering around with the new hard scape for the CA  cichlids today. Tank is a 125gal. This is what I came up with. Still a little cloudy from the new quartz sand . Thoughts for the species planned?

Thanks guys! I'm not settled on the central part of the scape as yet, so I'll prob mess with that a little more before I'm satisfied.
Got my quote from Dan at CoA last night, will be paying today and arrange shipping for my off days next week. I was gonna leave out the V. Bifas but after seeing a video of his breeding group I couldn't leave them out. So 3 each of the Bifas, argentea, synspilum, and regani from Dan, 3 carpintas from my local specialty LFS. Will have to thin the herd as they put on size or convince the wife we need a 180 ;)

So I ended up changing my stock list. I did not order from Dan. My LFS had the carpintis I wanted and when I went in to get them he had a really nice 4.5" hartwegi, some 5" synspilum, really nice imported fire mouths. I decided to support my local and buy them. Will post pics soon...

So over the past week I have had some big blow ups with aggression and the firemouth & least dom carpintas have gone to be with Jesus :) The Nicaraguensis seems to be the perp which surprises me as they 4-5 on the aggression scale of most places I checked. Ah well, it happens...
Here is a video as promised of the remaining 6 fish. The tank is a little cloudy as I just did a 70% water change this morning, and despite soaking my wood for months with regular wc's, it is still leaking tannins into my tank.
Enjoy!

One new behavior I haven't ever seen in my 38yrs of fish keeping is that the hartwegi will sit down against the sand and fan with it's pectoral fins furiously and seems to be looking for food in the stirred up substrate. Perhaps they eat aquatic insect larvae and nymphs in the wild. Whatever the reason it is very cool to watch. If I can catch it on vid I will share it here later...
