Community Tank

(1/1)

Rob S:
I've recently switched my 300 over to a more peaceful tank. I had been keeping only Central Americans for years. I acquired some nice Pinoy Blue Angelfish from a member here and added a discus, wild Jurapari, and about 30 tetras so far. Really calming to watch and so far I'm enjoying it. (Of course I kept a few of my Centrals in another tank.) Anyway, here it is so far.

Steve:
Defiantly looks like a peaceful community there. The blue angels are really nice looking.

kodyboy:
Very nice
Get a large shoal of rummy nose tetras (30+) they would look awesome running around a tank of that size.  Bloodfins work too.

Ron:
Great looking tank Rob. I really like the wood centerpiece.

I've found lately my momentum is trending in the direction of community planted tanks. The only downside to community fish over cichlids I've found is that they are shorter lived.

Rob S:
Thanks for the comments. Still kind of a work in progress. Ron, to your point about the longevity of the community fish it's funny that you say that because with my Centrals I could really go years in between acquiring something new. I've really been enjoying "shopping" for new stuff. But you're right the tetra life span isn't that of an Oscar. LOL
