Congrats on the first deer/buck 8)

Thanks mate! It was an exhilarating & exhausting experience. Nearly killed me dragging him 150yds out of a gully to the trailer.  That was after I gutted him too. I was dry heaving and had sweated out fully by the time I made the final 30 yd ascent to the vehicle. Now I know why peeps spend thousands on ATV's or quads to get their game out. I lived, and my wife shot her 1st deer the following morning so we now have 124#'s of grass fed venison in the deep freeze!

Yup, it was cool alright...a dream come true actually...neither of us really cared if we got a buck or a doe...we just wanted some meat in the freezer. My father in laws property is just outside Cincinnati adjoining Mt Airy with no proximity to farm land. He has 150 apples trees on the back of his 8 acre property. The deer there are strictly grass, acorn, other natural forage & apple fed. No GMO corn, beans or wheat in their diet. Pretty exciting stuff. I do miss my saltwater fishing, but this is a great substitute 5 months of the year, and we live right near the Maumee River & Lake Erie so i still get to wet a line frequently! All is well  ;)

Awesome to see other sportsmen on here. It's almost like we need to start up a fishing/hunting thread in the general discussion section.

Thanks!  Catching anywhere from 25"-37".  Nothing gigantic, but for the small lakes I'm hitting, its been a blast.  Was catching some decent Crappie this summer as well.

NICE looks like a solid 13-14" crappie? I''m mostly a C&R guy, but when it comes to crappie I love the taste of those!
